Morton Labs is a new venture out of the University of Chicago focused on reducing the time, cost, and uncertainty involved in designing and developing complex engineering systems. Our multi-physics simulation platform helps scientists and engineers make better use of the enormous body of simulation software already developed across national laboratories, universities, open-source communities, and industry without requiring those tools to be rewritten or replaced.
Rather than building another proprietary physics solver, Morton Labs provides the interoperability and orchestration layer that allows legacy research codes, open-source tools, and commercial software to work together across different programming languages, computing environments, and domains of physics. This enables researchers to spend more time on science and engineering and less time building bespoke software infrastructure, while creating a practical pathway for valuable scientific capabilities developed inside national laboratories and research institutions to be securely accessed and used by the broader engineering community.
